Shahid Kapoor on ‘Jersey’s failure: Bollywood’s famous producer-director Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan 7’ The fans are very fond of it. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani will be seen in the new episode of this show. Sharing the couch with Kiara Advani, ‘Kabir Singh’ actor Shahid Kapoor opened up about his personal as well as professional life. The actor’s last release was ‘Jersey’, which flopped even after its theatrical release. The film did modest business at the box office. In such a situation, now on the chat show, Shahid Kapoor talked about the flop of the film ‘Jersey’.

Shahid Kapoor From Karan Johar asked, ‘Recently your film ‘Jersey’ Did not perform as expected. Although your performance in this film was well received by the audience, even your acting in the film deserved to win the National Award, even after that it did not do well at the box office. At present the climate has changed completely, what do you think about it?

Responding to Karan Johar’s question, Shahid Kapoor said, “We were supposed to release the film on 31st of December but it didn’t happen. This happened because the havoc of the corona virus was once again back and Delhi was closed. This happened three days before the release of the film. We were engaged in marketing the film. During that time I asked myself, am I thinking with my mind or my heart? Because this film was close to my heart. The film had a father-son story, to which I had an emotional connect. Both my directors and producers Aman and Gautham were very keen that the film should go on the big screen.

Shahid further said, ‘When this did not happen in December, then I felt that the film should be released directly on digital. It is not so easy to promote the same film over and over again. After this the film was released in April, which did not prove to be a good month for ‘Jersey’. People’s minds had changed and the release date of the film was also changed several times. However, later things did not work out as expected. I think there was a lack somewhere in the film, due to which it didn’t work.
